Dean was born in Bristol in 1975. He paints wildlife from around the world in detailed acrylics and oils, developing compositions from sketches and memories gathered on many walks and travels. Dean was formerly an amateur boxer at Empire sports, he brings a disciplined, physical energy to his studio practice. He spends weekends on mountain trails and in the countryside, collecting visual notes that inform his work. Dean is married with 3 children - two daughters and a son – he balances family life with exhibitions and conservation projects. His work appears in galleries around the country and seeks to connect people with the natural world through honest, quietly powerful images.
