EXPLORATION OF LIGHT, ATMOSPHERE AND EMOTIONI am a self-taught artist and work mainly in oils.I was born and raised in Margate/Thanet on the Kent coast, afavourite pace for JMW Turner who once remarked to John Ruskin“The skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all of Europe”I have an instinctive, Gestural approach to painting, usingtexture as a base to create living, breathing, ‘Mindscapes’My inspiration comes from nature and the elements, blendingthese elements to produce an emotional synergy, evoking a sense of contemplation,discovery and ultimately hope. ABOVE ALL LIGHT IS THE KEY TO ALL MY PAINTINGS.
