Founder Cat Tremaine-Tucker
A Journey of Resilience and Passion
From a young age, life presented its challenges. These early adversities, however, became the crucible in which my will was forged.
Throughout childhood and into adulthood, I fought relentlessly against the odds. This tenacity bore fruit in a successful partnership. My spirit yearned for more — a creative escape that would offer solace and fulfilment.
This yearning found expression in painting. What began as a hobby soon grew into an almost obsessive passion, offering a sanctuary from the demands of everyday life. Each brushstroke on the canvas became a form of meditation, a way to channel inner strength and creativity, embracing the positives and rejecting the negative energies around us.
This new adventure: setting up Gallery Grace in Clifton Arcade. The venture is more than just a business; it is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of art. Gallery Grace promises to be a beacon of inspiration and beauty and a platform for other artists to showcase artworks.
In every painting, in every effort to build this new chapter, I shall continue to embody the spirit of a fighter a person who not only overcomes but also thrives, finding grace in creativity and strength in every brushstroke.
Wayne Janisch
EXPLORATION OF LIGHT, ATMOSPHERE AND EMOTION
I am a self-taught artist and work mainly in oils.
I was born and raised in Margate/Thanet on the Kent coast, a
favourite pace for JMW Turner who once remarked to John Ruskin
“The skies over Thanet are the loveliest in all of Europe”
I have an instinctive, Gestural approach to painting, using
texture as a base to create living, breathing, ‘Mindscapes’
My inspiration comes from nature and the elements, blending
these elements to produce an emotional synergy, evoking a sense of contemplation,
discovery and ultimately hope.

Molly Abbott
Molly Abbott Ceramics
I use clay to express my ideas since first going to Art school at the age of sixteen. From those early days I went on to study ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of the ceramics industry. After graduating I completed my PGCE in Art teaching. After teaching Pottery and Art for 13 years I wanted to travel. I completed a TEFL course, and went on to teach English in other countries, both near and far, before returning to England at the end of 1996. I have managed to keep up my clay practice in most of the places I have lived, and now have my own studio. Cheltenham has been my home since 1998. There is a large artistic community, and it is a joy to be involved in local galleries and organisations.
The reference for my work has always been the natural world, and that continues, though occasionally I use architecture as a starting point. Shape and form are very much the starting point for the actual making of my work. I enjoy looking at ways of devising changes from the traditional view of a geometric shape or traditional pottery form - like a vase, for instance. The surfaces of the completed piece are a focus for me. Any treatment - colour, texture and glaze - must befit the their placing and not just appear to be a ‘decoration’.
Lynette Bower Biography
Born in Keynsham, Lynette has lived and worked in the area all her life.
A Science teacher by profession she has always had an interest in painting and over the last 20 years has developed her work, experimenting with different techniques and learning from other artists. Her interest in botany (including at the microscopic level) and love of plants, beautiful gardens and landscapes has inspired her paintings. They are mostly created in acrylic on canvas and she loves using colour to create different effects and moods.
Lynette usually paints from photographs often adding her characteristic splash of plants and flowers to landscapes and local landmarks. A lot of her work has been commissions, but she enjoys the freedom to paint as inspiration leads her and has produced a wide range of different styles.
Alice Sims
Alice Sims is a Welsh artist living and working in Bristol. As an ecologist by trade, her work is informed by an understanding of the natural environment, with a particular interest in seasonal cycles.
Daily dog walks form the basis of her process. Observing how the environment shifts through the seasons, Alice enjoys drawing attention to the more subtle aspects of the natural world that we often pass by without noticing.
David Lunt
I like to work using various techniques which combine vibrant colours using acrylics. Now I am retired I have time to explore new techniques and new ideas. Living in Clevedon, surrounded by outstanding countryside, I belive helps my art as I can draw from the openness of my surroundings.
I cam across an Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt, he has been an inspiration to me with his utilisation of stunning colours.
I love being able to give my art the time I was unable to spend on it in my younger days.
Zoe Taylor
Zoe is a Bristol-based artist whose work is a heartfelt tribute to the natural world. Whether painting traditional landscapes or expressive floral pieces, her art is rooted in nature — a way of bringing the outside in.
Her creative journey began as a powerful form of personal therapy following a diagnosis of MS. As her mobility and dexterity changed, painting became a lifeline — a way to stay connected to the colour, energy, and vitality of the outdoors, even when venturing out wasn’t always possible. Now painting most days from her home studio, Zoe’s practice is both reflective and instinctive, guided by emotion and sensory experience.
Her work is ever-evolving, characterised by bold experimentation with form, materials, and texture. Recently, she has embraced richly layered surfaces and tactile finishes, building up compositions through an intuitive process of response and revision. Each painting is a dialogue — a conversation between colour, texture, and mood, where the end result often reveals itself through the act of creation.
Above all, Zoe’s art is an expression of joy. Her paintings are filled with vitality, celebrating the beauty of the natural world and the uplifting power of creativity.
Dean Walker
Born in 1974 and raised on the graffiti splashed streets of Bristol, Deans artistic journey began admidst the vibrant urban textures of his hometown. A self-taught painter with a deep reverence for nature. Dean channels his lifelong passion for ornithology - especially raptors - into richly detailed works in oils and acrylics, His art captures they majesty of buirds of prey and the raw beauty of african wildlife, reflecting both scientific curiosity and emothinal depth.
Before dedicating himself fully to art, Dean led a dynamic life shaped by sport and discipline. As a youth he played for Bristol City Football club and later trained as a boxer at Empire Sports.
Dean is a devoted family man and lives with his wife and 3 children, 2 daughters and a son - who inspire his work and keep him grounded.
Whether painting the piercing gaze of an eagle or the sun-drenched savannahs of Kenya, Deans art invites viewers to see the world through the eyes of a passionate naturalist and storyteller.
Charlotte Kessler
Charlotte began painting cathartically in childhood and was drawn to the natural world, sensing its powerful impact on her energetic and emotional wellbeing. This early connection evolved into a deeper interest in the capacity of art and movement to express, mediate and explore the human condition, later leading her to train and work as an art therapist. Through developing a greater understanding of her sensitivity and her body’s sensual response to environment, she began weaving inner and outer perception, and the ‘more than human world’, into her paintings.Her work is influenced by the decorative and evocative qualities of Klimt, the compositions of Chagall, the dreamlike paintings of Odilon Redon and the surreal structures of M.C. Escher, alongside the poetic, sacred and philosophical writings of John O’Donohue, Rilke, Hafiz and Kabir. Charlotte’s practice explores the human capacity for joy, awe and wonder, how these states are experienced through perception, and the healing potential within the human laboratory.
Faye Barnes
Faye Barnes is an abstract artist from somerset, celebrating bold expression, vibrant colour, and the freedom of imagination. Working from her home studio and garden in the summer months. Faye's been passionate about art for as long as she can remember, And in 2022 took the big step of turning her hobby into her full- time career."I feel my work brings a good vibe and brightness to your room, a great talking point too, I'm dedicated to sharing my love of abstract art and continue to grow my practice and presence, Offering original art work and commissions" She's brought joy and happiness to many homes, businesses, Hotels, spas, restaurants & cafes. And long may it continue.
