A Journey of Resilience and Passion
From a young age, life presented its challenges. These early adversities, however, became the crucible in which my will was forged.
Throughout childhood and into adulthood, I fought relentlessly against the odds. This tenacity bore fruit in a successful partnership. My spirit yearned for more—a creative escape that would offer solace and fulfilment.
This yearning found expression in painting. What began as a hobby soon grew into an almost obsessive passion, offering a sanctuary from the demands of everyday life. Each brushstroke on the canvas became a form of meditation, a way to channel inner strength and creativity.
I have started a new adventure: setting up Gallery Grace in Clifton Arcade. This venture is more than just a business; it is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of art. As I prepare to share this passion with the world, Gallery Grace promises to be a beacon of inspiration and beauty and a platform for other artists to showcase their artworks.
In every painting, in every effort to build this new chapter, I shall continue to embody the spirit of a fighter a person who not only overcomes but also thrives, finding grace in creativity and strength in every brushstroke.
Mandy McBride
Peace in creation.
Sculpture, animals, people, art deco.
As a child my happiest memories were when I was making something, no matter what it was or the medium I was using. Over the yhears I gravitated toward sculpture and whether I am creating human, animal, or abstract form, big or small, I'm fascinated and excited by tranmsforming a single lump of clay into something beautiful. Once I have completed the clay work many of my pieces are transformed once again into cold-cast metal or stone resin.
James O'Dwyer
James O’Dwyer explores the materiality of paint texture, gesture, and colour - it's abstract gestalt - a record of process, a layered palimpsest, manifested in the artefact.
"I work using an iterative process, beginning from the discoveries of previous work, but letting go of predetermined expectations. Taking an experimental approach to working with painting media, including the use of a plasterer’s trowel, squeegee, metal scribe and occasionally brush, to allow chance and visual discovery to inform the dynamic journey a painting takes."
James is an Irish/British artist from London, who now lives in Bristol, where he established and ran a UAL Foundation Art programme. Alongside of his studio practice, James continues to tutor online. James initially trained in Stage design, and completed his MA at the University of Newcastle, and this combination characterizes his approach to making paintings.

Lynette Bower Biography
Born in Keynsham, Lynette has lived and worked in the area all her life.
A Science teacher by profession she has always had an interest in painting and over the last 20 years has developed her work, experimenting with different techniques and learning from other artists. Her interest in botany (including at the microscopic level) and love of plants, beautiful gardens and landscapes has inspired her paintings. They are mostly created in acrylic on canvas and she loves using colour to create different effects and moods.
Lynette usually paints from photographs often adding her characteristic splash of plants and flowers to landscapes and local landmarks. A lot of her work has been commissions, but she enjoys the freedom to paint as inspiration leads her and has produced a wide range of different styles.
Gaby Molnár Biography
I'm Gaby Molnár from Budapest, Hungary.
Leaving an amazing professional career behind I came to Bristol to set up a family business 18 years ago.
I have dual nationality, Hungarian - British, with my soul and heart here in the West Country although I have widely travelled all over the world.
My passion is painting the sun’s path wherever I go or just simply taking photos and then painting the sunrise and sunset from my Clifton home .
T K Csontvary is one of my inspirations.
His intense colours on tailor made canvases made me create my own vividly colourful paintings with my own hand made colours. Needless to say that I found my happiness here.
Occasionally I like to paint portraits of people I have fond memories with to capture the moments we enjoyed together. My special interest is glass paint which I studied 1:1 with a local artist. My aim is to create a modern version of coloured glasses to make a unique contemporary effect for modern buildings .
My paintings are now all over the world from Austria to Australia and many more countries.
I’m pleased to be a painter of the newly opened Grace Gallery in Clifton Village Arcade.

I cam across an Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt, he has been an inspiration to me with his utilisation of stunning colours.

Kate Edmunds
Kate Edmunds is an Emmy award winning designer and an accomplished painter, Kate has exhibited in many galleries including the Royal West of England Academy (RWA), OXO Wharf and The Mall Galleries. For me, the real excitement of landscape painting comes when I'm inspired to create an impression of what I see, rather than a more literal view. Working mainly en plein air, I aim to create something the viewer can complete in their own mind, perhaps with different interpretations on each viewing. Bold and contrasting colours, quick brush strokes and mark making. Mixed media on canvas and paper
